June 11th & July 9th: Science on the Farm (2nd Fridays)

Join us for an exciting day of hands-on science for kids on the Project GROWS farm. Along with Dr. Taylor Welsh of Science Delivered, we'll harvest some veggies and dissect them to learn all about what's inside in our Edible Science: Plant Dissection workshop. Then Rachel Winter with the Headwaters Soil & Water Conservation District will help us discover the world beneath our feet with the Underground Classroom Bus Discovery Tour! Explore all the living and non-living things we find underground as we explore why soil is an important natural resource. We’ll also play veggie-themed games, go on a scavenger hunt, and participate in fun garden tasks.

June 25th & July 23rd: Farm Explorers (4th Fridays)

It’s your chance to be a farmer for a day! Come explore the amazing living creatures of the farm alongside the Project GROWS staff. We’ll scour the riparian area and pasture for butterflies, birds, and grasshoppers and meet animal friends from nearby farms like chickens, lambs, rabbits, and worms! Be prepared to get dirty as we help out with fun farm tasks like digging up beets, carrots, and potatoes. We’ll also do taste tests of the day’s veggies and make seedballs with wildflower seeds to take home and spread in our neighborhoods.

$20 Discount if you Register one child for all sessions. 10% off each session for second child.

Cancellation Policy

Registrant may cancel registration prior to June 1 for a 50% refund. After June 1, the registrant may receive a 50% refund, only if another camper is able to fill the vacancy. BRCM will endeavor to find someone from the waiting list to fill the vacancy, but BRCM cannot guarantee the space will be filled.

COVID-19 Policies

Drop off will include COVID-19 symptom screening and temperature check.

Campers will be in small age-based groups, with a maximum 6 to 1 student to instructor ratio.

Kids will be required to bring a mask, and will be asked to wear it all day, except when eating or drinking. Campers can have socially distanced mask breaks as needed.

All kids and adults will be asked to maintain 3 foot distance from one another at snack and lunch times and we will eat outdoors.
We will minimize games that involve close contact between students such as tagging.

We’ll use hand sanitizer and/or hand washing at various points throughout the day and always before and after bathroom breaks and eating.

The majority of the day will take place outside; however, when we are together inside the greenhouse or high tunnels for lessons, the doors and/or sides will be propped open/rolled up to allow for fresh air flow. This includes the Underground Classroom Bus visit: all doors will remain open for ventilation.

All parents and guardians are required to read and sign the Liability Waiver.

Considering the ongoing spread of COVID-19, individuals who fall within any of the categories A through D as specified in the waiver should not engage in Little GROWers Mini-Camp. By attending, you certify that you do not fall into any of the categories A through D.

As of April 15 all current Project GROWS staff will be fully vaccinated. We will make every effort to encourage our summer camp counselors to get vaccinated as well.
