Little Chefs (Ages 5-8)
*New for 2020!* Do you have a child who is always asking to help you in the kitchen? Little Chefs is the perfect opportunity to practice cooking skills with fresh veggies straight from the farm. Little Chefs will play fun games to learn cooking and baking vocabulary, explore the farm to learn where their food comes from, and work in teams to make salads, snacks, and smoothies. We’ll also go on scavenger hunts to explore the garden and see how many colors and flavors we can find together! Campers will leave with recipes, gardening and food preparation skills, and an appreciation of where their food comes from.
SKILLS CAMP (Ages 8-10)
*New for 2020!* We will also be offering a special Skills Camp session during Little Chefs, where older students will have a chance to practice more advanced cooking skills. Activities will include making products with honey and beeswax, and dairy treats like butter and ice cream. We’ll explore food preservation methods like quick pickling, lacto-fermentation, and canning, and we will use the beautiful, fragrant herbs on the farm to make herbal tea, herb bundles, and medicinal salve!
Healthy snack provided, but campers welcome to bring additional healthy snacks
Lunch not provided, but families are welcome to join the staff and kids for lunch at the picnic tables at pick-up time!
