    July 8-11, 2025

8:30 AM-2:30 PM (Drop off starts at 8:15 AM)
Project GROWS Farm, 608 Berry Farm Rd, Staunton, VA.

Lunch: Lunch and snacks will be provided free of charge by Staunton City Schools. Students are of course welcome to pack their own lunch, though.

Thanks to the generous support of individual donors to the Mac VanderPloeg Scholarship Fund, we are excited to offer sliding scale pricing for both Little GROWers and Junior GROWers this year!

Our pricing tiers are as follows: $150, $200, and $250*. This tiered structure is designed to make camp more accessible to a wider range of families, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to experience the joy of farm-based education and summer enrichment, regardless of their financial situation.

We believe cost should never be a barrier to participation. If your family needs additional financial assistance or discounts, please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. We're here to help ensure every child can grow, learn, and explore with us this summer!

*Please note that the full cost of camp is $250 per student, which helps cover program expenses such as staffing, materials, and guest facilitators, all aimed at creating an engaging and enriching learning experience for our campers. Families who select the $250 tier are helping to ensure the program remains sustainable and accessible for all.

Age should be between 10 and 13 as of May 30th, 2025

I am willingly having my child's picture taken and/or voice recorded and grant Project GROWS and BRCM permission or representatives to use my child's picture, voice and physical surroundings without restriction for the purposes of the organization’s goals and mission, be it print, projections, internet website, video or any future media market. I expressly release Project GROWS and BRCM or representatives or any institution transmitting or exhibiting my child's picture or voice from any claims arising from such use of distribution. I agree to be fully responsible for my own participation and hold Project GROWS or BRCM or representatives harmless from any liability or loss or expense arising from the use of my child's picture or voice. I also consent to the use of my child's name and voice and/or photo, and other material about me for promotional, publicity, or organizational purposes.

At Little GROWers and Junior GROWers Camps, we strive to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all campers. While our camps are not specifically designed for children with special needs, we are committed to applying strategies that can support a wide range of campers. Our staff receives training in areas including child safety and emergency procedures, age-appropriate instruction, behavior management, and problem-solving, but we want to be transparent about our limitations in terms of the level of support we can provide.

**Staffing and Camper Support**
While we have a dedicated staff to promote a safe, engaging and enjoyable experience for our campers, we are unable to provide 1:1 staffing for individual campers. Campers are typically grouped into small teams, each with 1-2 counselors. In addition, we have a floater counselor who circulates between groups to provide additional support, such as offering brief sensory breaks or checking in with campers who may need help reconnecting.
For campers who may experience minor challenging behaviors, we consider various strategies to help them stay engaged and redirect their focus. These strategies could include:
-Reminders of upcoming transitions
-Breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps
-Providing visual supports
-Offering behavior-specific praise
-Using positive language when redirecting behaviors

Our first focus must be the safety and well-being of all of our campers and counselors. We are comfortable addressing minor challenging behaviors, which can often be redirected without causing ongoing disruption to the group. However, please note that our camp environment, staffing levels, and credentials may not be suitable for more intense behavioral challenges.

**Behavioral Guidelines**
For the reasons outlined above, our camp is not appropriate for children who exhibit certain behaviors that could compromise the safety, well-being, or success of the group. Specifically, we are unable to accommodate children who display:
-Aggressive behavior
-Destruction of property or the environment
-Elopement (running away from the group area)
-Inappropriate language (including threats or swearing)
-Self-injurious behavior
-Consistent non-compliance that disrupts the group

We are committed to offering camps that promote a safe, positive, and fun experience for each camper. If your child requires specific accommodations or if you have concerns about their participation, please reach out to us before registering. Should any behavioral concerns arise during camp, we will promptly reach out to the parent or guardian listed on the registration form to discuss the situation and determine the best next steps.

Our goal is to work with families to support all campers to the best of our abilities within the structure and resources available. Thank you for your understanding and partnership in making camp an enjoyable experience for everyone!

Registrant may cancel registration prior to June 1 for a 50% refund. After June 1, the registrant may receive a 50% refund, only if another camper is able to fill the vacancy. BRCM will endeavor to find someone from the waiting list to fill the vacancy, but BRCM cannot guarantee the space will be filled.
